Overview
Known from nine isolated teeth found in the Chorora Formation of Ethiopia. Dental morphology, particularly the shearing crests on molars, suggests a folivorous diet similar to modern gorillas. Some researchers consider it a possible early member of the gorilla lineage, while others argue the dental similarities may be convergent.
